F.A.Q

Where the blog name comes from?
Gilvenia and its neighbouring areas are an imaginery land where my OCs live. Mitty aka Calamitty is one of the main protagonist of my storyline, but I have also scribbled bits of side stories from my other OCs perspectives, which is why I call my story Tales of Gilvenian, hence the blog title Tales of Gilvenian dolls.

What is OC?
OC = original character

What is BJD?
BJD means a ball-jointed doll. You can find more information of BJDs on AsenvaBJDs wonderful blog, which has a great beginner FAQs section or on Den of Angels forums. Additionall you can join Facebook groups, such as BJD Addicts.

How many dolls you have? What dolls you have?
You can find a list of my current dolls in here.

What do you use to edit photos?
Gimp 2 & Adobe Photoshop

What camera you use?
Usually Panasonic Lumix G or my phone.

Where are you from?
I am originally from Finland. You can comment in Finnish, English or Korean.

Do you collect other dolls?
Currently I collect only BJDs and I have one Pullip. I used to own Monster High, Ever After High, Ddung dolls and Pullip dolls. I still do love these dolls. I think Smart Dolls, Dolfie Dreams, Azone, Licca, Jenny and Blythes are also very cute.

What do you think of recasts?
I am a pro-artist collector, I own only legit dolls. I do not support recasts. If you do not know what recasts are and why they are not good for the hobby, please read this article on DoA

When did you start collecting BJDs?
I found BJDs around 2008, when I was googling something related to EGL fashion style. I came across photos of Dream of Doll Homme Duncan and got super interested what kind of doll it was. I went to a local BJD forum to gather more information. If I remember right I got my first BJD in 2009, and it was Dollzone Megi.

What you use to dye your dolls?
I use Rit DyeMore for synthetic fibres.

Where do you buy your dolls / doll clothes / accessories?
I buy my dolls mostly on SOOM, Little Monica, Dolk BJD, Alice's Collections, Legend Doll or second hand from other BJD hobbyists. I use several different websites to buy doll clothes and accessories, if you are interested in a specific product please comment in a blog post and I try to answer. I also do visit local thrift stores and do some sewing and DIY to create clothes and props.
