Let's make "old" paper

I have made lots of letters and recipes for my dolls with "old" looking paper. It is very easy to make and looks fun in photos. 

What I do first is take any paper I want to use, measure it and rip the edges to give the papers "used" look. The more uneven the better, this paper has gone through a lot! 

After that I will soak the papers in black tea (coffee works as well). Crumpled paper gives more textured and uneven look.

 

After the papers have dried I will slightly burn the edges and dip them in cold water immediately to give them even more used look. Then I will smudge them with the burnt matches.

I decided the papers suffered enough, but usually I dip them in black tea few more times to darken the colour or add some coffee with brush to make the brown colour look uneven. After the papers have dried they can be decorated! I think I will make these into potion recipes. :D I also made a birch broom in BJD size from fallen birch brances today.
